Category Buyer (f/m/d)

    We are looking for a top-level sourcing professional to our highly skilled, dynamic, and global MEC Category Team. Your contribution will have significant impact to Kongsberg Automotive’ s bottom line result.

    As a Category buyer for Turned and Machined Category in Kongsberg Automotive (KA) you are strategically and globally responsible for your category, with an annual spend of around 14 MEUR. You will work closely with our local category buyers and project buyers around the globe. The position is located in our office in Hallbergmoos, Germany.

    You are responsible for developing and maintaining a category strategy that fulfills KAs business needs and align them cross functionally. You are responsible for the category budget and to drive the teamwork to identify cost improvement opportunities, and secure implementation.

    Your focus is to find, implement, and manage preferred suppliers in accordance with business needs, and KA supplier requirements. You will make sure that KA has a supplier base that is capable to support KA’s growth plans in terms of innovation, footprint, cost, and capacity expansion. Negotiations will be a major part of your role as overall responsible for the commercial results and cost savings target for the Turned and Machined product category.

    You will be the subject matter expert for Turned and Machined and will provide the organization with expert market outlook knowledge and define potential impact to the business.

    • Bachelor or Master’s degree
    • Minimum 5 years strategic purchasing experience in the automotive industry
    • Extensive technical knowledge and experience working with the Turned and Machined category or similar category
    • Business acumen, and commercial mindset
    • Demonstrated skills to plan and execute high level negotiations with excellent results
    • Ability to develop strong business relationships and strategic alliances, both internally and externally
    • Demonstrated communication skills, with an ability to convince and influence stakeholders
    • Outgoing and committed team player with a strong commercial drive
    • Flexible and comfortable in a rapidly changing and demanding organization
    • Analytical skills
    • Fluent in English is a requirement, additional language is an advantage
