For the Expert Track, as part of the INspire – the Trucks & Buses Experience Program, we are looking for trainees in the area of engineering alternative drive (f/m/x). The Expert Track is an alternative to a classical entry position. In the Expert Track you will be working for 36 months in globally connected projects and agile teams. You will be given the freedom to fully bring in your competences and develop your ideas for the future of mobility. Here are some short insights into your first project IN the Expert Track: Your first project starts in your future home area Global ePowertrain Engineering. The center bundles all global competencies for (e)Powertrain technologies over all Daimler Trucks and Buses brands and vehicles. For us at Daimler Trucks and Buses Zero-Emission ePowertrains are both battery-electric and fuel cell hybrid systems to meet our customers use cases to a maximum. With a system engineering approach, we are looking on the ePowertrain development from different angles from future concepts and strategies to system and component design and validation. You will contribute in your field of expertise in areas such as system design, early-stage technology evaluation, product innovation, simulative environment and questions of efficiency, lifetime and operating strategy.     About you: In-depth knowledge and expertise in one of the following fields:

    • Power Electronics or
    • Battery Cell Chemistry or
    • Fuel Cell Technology

    This can be exemplary a master degree or higher with a major and/or a dedicated research work/professional experience in one of the fields. Further qualifications:

    • Master degree or higher in Electric Engineering, Energy Engineering, Material Science, E-Mobility, Mechatronics, Vehicle Technology or comparable Engineering degree with a major in one of the fields of expertise (or comparable)
    • Our expectations are that you either professionally worked and/or studied and/or researched in the field of expertise
    • You are eager to learn and further deepen your expertise
    • Team spirit and strong communication skills to support and share your expertise in a collaborative environment
    • Fluent in written & spoken English
    • MS-Office advanced
    • You are a visionary and you always have the whole picture and the customer in mind

    What we would also appreciate:

    • A start-up mentality, that means being enthusiastic, motivated and pragmatic
    • You are willing to question the status quo with new ideas and perspectives
