    We are working on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MBOS), a software-defined architecture that enables state-of-the-art customer functions across domain controllers. One of these high-performance domain controllers implements advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) and automated driving (AD) functions. Our department is responsible for developing and integrating MBOS on this domain controller and, thus, lays the foundation for our exciting customer functions.

    About the role:
    In our department we focus on providing the software platform for developing future advanced driver assistance and automated driving systems for Mercedes-Benz cars using standards like AUTOSAR Classic and AUTOSAR Adaptive. We integrate a variety of high-end sensors and integrate the ADAS/AD software stack.

    As manager CI/CD, Software Engineering Tools and Processes you

    • will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a SW development process and tool implementation according to (Automotive) SPICE and ISO26262
    • will be implementing an ISO26262 compliant ALM toolchain with full traceability
    • will drive the certification of ALM tools according to TCL
    • will integrate methods for automatization of AUTOSAR Classic and AUTOSAR Adaptive in a CI/CD workflow
    • will tailor our CI/CD toolchain with our cooperation partner MBition to the specific needs of the ADAS Software base layer
    • will build-up a team of senior experts, provide direction on the priorities to achieve the project goals and support continuous learning and qualification
    • foster the tailoring of norms/standards to modern software development methodologies and principles in order to assure software Quality

    Jointly with your team and our stakeholders you develop a team strategy around our goal to take full control over the software stack. In close cooperation with the developers you will provide a tool- and process set that is centered on modern software development methods like CI/CD and DevOps. You are also the focal point for the processes that are required to release safety and security relevant software.

    You are a team player who understands that this goal can only be achieved as a joint and well aligned effort of all stakeholders. The basis is the adoption of industry best practices and standards like ISO26262 and ASPICE, always with a clear focus on the user perspective, automation and the enablement of our developers.
    Professional qualifications:

    • Completed university or equivalent degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Vehicle Technology, Electrical Engineering and significant practical experience
    • Several years development experience in large-scale automotive HW/SW projects with focus on embedded software development
    • Several years of experience in managing projects and engineers within SW engineering
    • Extensive and proven experience in design and implementation of automotive software development processes and corresponding quality frameworks
    • Deep knowledge in setting up relevant development norms and processes like (Automotive) SPICE, ISO26262 and further relevant norms/standards
    • Deep knowledge in setting up tooling such that development processes and norms are supported seamlessly for the developer community
    • Extensive knowledge of modern software development principles and methodologies (continuous integration & delivery (CICD) and a DevOps mindset)
    • Experience with agile methodologies combined with reference projects in the automotive domain where you successfully employed and tailored agile methods to optimally serve the project and user needs
    • Proficient in German and English
