    The Manager Machine Safety (m/f/d) reports directly to the Environmental, Health & Safety Director EMEA. You will be responsible for coordinating and auditing compliance of machines and equipment to the European Machine Directive. Furthermore, you will support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives in EMEA and support the plants and areas with the proper and adequate implementation of an occupational safety program to ensure the quality level of machines and equipment in cooperation with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and other areas. The role will be based at our Clarios EMEA headquarters office in Hanover, Germany.
    Main Responsibilities:

    • Implementing and maintaining a program to assure compliance to the European Machine Directive and other legal or internal requirements for existing and new machines and equipment
    • Coordinating CE Certification for new or modified machines made by Clarios or by suppliers on behalf of Clarios
    • Creating safety specifications for new and modified machines and equipment
    • Proposing procedures for regular technical safety checks and documenting them in BOS
    • Conduct safety audits with focus on machines and equipment and develop corrective action plans and coordinate and conduct ISO 45001 audits
    • Provide safety trainings for engineers, technicians and purchase managers
    • Support energy management system in EMEA

    Required

    • University Degree in Engineering or a similar degree, preferably as a Mechanical Engineer with an equivalent training
    • Several years of work experience on industrial safety in a manufacturing environment
    • Advanced work experience on the European Machine Directive
    • Good knowledge of international standards and audits (i.e. ISO 45001)
    • First experiences in environmental technology, ideally with a focus on energy monitoring
    • Very good MS Office skills
    • Willing to take the lead to persuade and influence opinions as well as overcome challenges confidently while recommending the best solution for the EHS
    • Excellent communications skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in German and English, an additional language is a plus
