(Senior) Engineer Combustion Development (m/f/d)

    As (Senior) Engineer for advanced combustion development, you are developing new combustion system and emission / fuel consumption behavior for the next generation of combustion engines.

    You will take over the following tasks:    

    • Developing new combustion systems for future emissions regulations (EU7) especially for lean combustion (homogeneous, RCCI/SpCCI, HCCI) in an ICE electrified environment
    • Calibrating combustion relevant ECU parameters / developing new control functions
    • Testing the engines on test benches, evaluating combustion / emission / fuel consumption behavior
    • Designing engine parts / systems as combustion chamber shape, DI injector nozzle geometry and peripheral systems as new fuel delivery system etc. 
    • Planning and organizing measuring equipment for new combustion engines       

    • Engineering Degree in a related field
    • Knowledge in the area of combustion / emission behavior of direct injection engines
    • Experience in measurements on engine test bench, utilization of tools such as PUMA, INCA, Uniplot, indication 
    • Design of engine parts, injector nozzle geometry, spray targeting, usage of Catia / ProE 
    • Excellent analytical skills, physics based thinking and a problem solving mentality
    • Willingness to travel and valid European driving license B
    • A very good command of English and strong intercultural & communication skills 
    • Proficient in presenting, reporting and handling Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint and Excel
