    MBition, Mercedes–Benz is bringing the automotive industry into the future! How?
    We are working on a software-defined architecture, that allows us to create state-of-the-art customer functions that span one or more domain controllers with significant processing power. One of these high-performance domain controllers is used for automated driving functions (e.g. automated driving on highways).

    We do this in Berlin and Sindelfingen as a 100% subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG, which has been perfecting the art of moving people, products and services from A to B for more than 120 years.

    About the role

    In our team, we develop features for On-Demand Function (ODF) that customers can purchase when configuring their vehicles or can purchase after they received the vehicle via MercedesMe portal. Some example of such functions are premium navigation, digital radio, smartphone integration (i.e. Android Auto/Apple CarPlay).

    As a member of On-Demand Function team, you will enable the features for On-Demand Function in our in-vehicle infotainment platform. As a (Senior) Software Engineer you will develop the features as well as design, document, implement, integrate and test your code. Development will typically be in C++ programming language and make use of modern tools, technologies, engineering practices and methodologies.

    Your Profile

    Education

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.

    Experience

    • Experience in Software development using modern C++
    • Experience in version control system (preferably Git)
    • Familiarity/Experience working with Gitlab, Jenkins, Docker
    • Familiarity with “GoogleTest”
    • Experience in software development for embedded system based on Linux/Unix-like system
    • Familiarity with open source licenses and/or being a contributor to open source Projects

    Nice to have

    Very nice to have one or more of:

    • Experience of working in a similar role for large agile software development project preferably in embedded system software development
    • Work experience in Automotive Software Development
    • Familiarity or development experience on system that uses protocol like DoIP, Some/IP, D-Bus. 
    • Familiarity with coding guidelines/standards (e.g. MISRA C/C++, CERT C/C++)
    • Familiarity with secure coding best practices

    Personal skills

    • Strong ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment

    • Proficiency in problem solving and can-do attitude
    • Personal initiative, commitment, perseverance and resilience
    • Well-developed communication and teamwork skills

    Language skills

    • Proficient in English, German is a plus!
